EA has promised to make changes and updates to Franchise Mode in the coming years, beginning this year with patches to improve Franchise Mode. Fans of Franchise Mode seemed to get the shortest end of the stick this year, as the mode lacks any significant changes from Madden 20 to Madden 21, which prompted fans of the game mode to create the hashtag #FixMaddenFranchise on Twitter. It also doesn’t help that EA is the only company allowed to make simulation-based NFL games. Many passionate fans of simulation football are growing tired of EA and the Madden NFL franchise because of its heavy focus on microtransaction-based arcade-like modes such as Madden Ultimate Team and now The Yard, despite Madden marketing itself as a simulation football game.
